1. About these terms

JustGammon, available through justgammon.com (opens in a new tab), is legally and commercially operated by BOBOIU EMANUEL PERSOANĂ FIZICĂ AUTORIZATĂ, a Romanian sole trader (persoană fizică autorizată, or PFA), referred to in these terms as the Operator.

These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the JustGammon game, website, documentation, and related services. By creating an account or using JustGammon, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

JustGammon is an online backgammon platform where you can:

• Play matches against other players or computer opponents
• Create or join private games using a game PIN
• Spectate ongoing games
• Chat with other players during a game
• Use game history, statistics, settings, messages, support, and accessibility features

JustGammon does not provide gambling, wagering, or real-money gaming. You are responsible for your internet connection, compatible device, browser, and any charges associated with them.

3. Free games, subscriptions, and game packages

JustGammon provides a free daily game allowance and offers paid Premium subscriptions and one-time game packages. Current products and prices are published on the Plans and Pricing page.

Free daily games

• Each user receives 3 free games per day.
• The allowance resets at 00:00 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) for all users, regardless of local timezone.
• Unused daily games do not carry over.
• Daily free games are consumed before purchased games.
• After the daily allowance is used, starting another game requires an active Premium subscription or an available purchased-game balance.

Premium

Premium provides unlimited games while the subscription is active. While Premium is active, neither daily free games nor purchased game packages are consumed.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless automatic renewal is disabled through the applicable payment provider. Disabling automatic renewal does not end Premium immediately; access continues until the end of the paid billing period.

If Premium expires during an active game, the user may finish that game. Subscription access is validated when starting a new game.

Game packages

Game packages are one-time purchases. Purchased games do not expire and remain available until used. A purchased balance is not consumed while Premium is active.

Game consumption

One game means one individual backgammon game, not an entire multi-point match. Bot games consume one game. Private and online games consume one game for each participating player. Spectator mode does not consume games, and a rematch is a new game.

A game is consumed only after both players complete their first move. If a player leaves before both first moves are complete, no game is consumed. Once that condition has been met, the game remains consumed even if it later ends through resignation, timeout, disconnect, abandonment, or another reason.

Payment providers and cross-platform access

Stripe processes purchases on Web and Android. Apple In-App Purchases processes purchases on iOS. Available Stripe payment methods may include credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, depending on device and region.

Purchases and entitlements are associated with the JustGammon account used for the transaction. Stripe purchases are available on iOS, and Apple purchases are available on Web and Android, when the user signs in with the same JustGammon account.

JustGammon does not process or store complete payment-card details. Purchases are also subject to the applicable payment provider’s terms and policies.

Displayed or checkout prices and any applicable taxes may be handled according to the payment channel, customer location, transaction type, and applicable tax rules. The operator’s Romanian VAT status does not mean that VAT or another tax can never apply to a purchase.

4. Accounts and security

• You must create an account and complete the required profile information to use game features.
• You may register directly or use a supported third-party sign-in provider.
• You must provide accurate information and must not impersonate another person.
• You are responsible for protecting your credentials and for activity performed through your account.
• Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
• You may not transfer, sell, or allow another person to misuse your account.

5. Fair play and acceptable use

When using JustGammon, you agree not to:

• Use cheating tools, unauthorized bots, scripts, or automation to gain an unfair advantage
• Exploit bugs or interfere with game state, matchmaking, timers, results, or other players
• Harass, threaten, abuse, impersonate, or send unlawful or harmful content
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, bypass security, or gain unauthorized access to the service or another account
• Collect another user’s information without authorization
• Submit false, abusive, malicious, or confidential material through chat, support, or bug reports
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose

The computer opponents and bot-versus-bot spectator mode provided by JustGammon are permitted parts of the service.

6. User content and communications

You are responsible for profile information, bug reports, suggestions, support requests, and other content you submit. You must have the right to submit that content, and it must not be unlawful, abusive, misleading, malicious, or infringe another person’s rights.

You retain any rights you hold in your content. You grant the Operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, and use that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the service.

In-game chat is transmitted to the participants in the active game and is not retained by JustGammon. Other submitted material may be reviewed when necessary for support, moderation, security, or legal compliance. See the Privacy Policy for details.

7. Intellectual property

JustGammon, including its software, design, graphics, documentation, branding, and service content, is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of JustGammon or authorize commercial reuse of its content.

8. Availability and changes

JustGammon is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free availability. Maintenance, security incidents, network failures, third-party services, or other events may temporarily affect access.

We may modify, add, or remove service features and may discontinue all or part of the service. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice of changes that materially affect users.

9. Enforcement and termination

We may investigate suspected violations and may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate an account when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users or the service, comply with law, or address security and operational risks.

You may stop using JustGammon at any time. You can request account deletion from My Profile. The request can be cancelled from your profile during the following 24 hours. After that waiting period, the account becomes eligible for automatic deletion. Processing may be deferred while you are in an active game or while an external service is temporarily unavailable. Once deletion has been completed, it cannot be reversed.

Deleting an account does not remove records that JustGammon must retain or anonymize for financial, security, dispute-resolution, or legal purposes. Where supported, account deletion cancels an active Stripe subscription. Apple subscriptions are managed by Apple and may need to be cancelled separately through the user’s Apple account or App Store subscription settings.

Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination—including intellectual-property, liability, dispute, and enforcement provisions—remain effective.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JustGammon is provided without warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. We do not warrant that the service will always be available, meet every requirement, or be free from defects.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law, including applicable consumer-protection law.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled when you use JustGammon.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect service, legal, or operational changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Where appropriate, we will provide additional notice of material changes.

By continuing to use JustGammon after updated terms take effect, you agree to the updated terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the service.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania and applicable European Union law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Nothing in these terms removes mandatory rights or remedies available under applicable consumer law. Courts and authorities with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear disputes.
