What's New

This page highlights changes that affect players. It is not a list of every fix or internal change, and version or build numbers may differ between platforms.

The latest release is expanded by default. Activate “Changes in version…” to show or hide that version’s details. More than one version can remain expanded at the same time.

Changes in version 1.1
  • Added game time negotiation: choose Rapid, Standard, Relaxed, or No pressure using the stopwatch icon, the top edge of the board, More → Change game time, or Shift+T with board focus. Negotiation is available before both players have completed their first turn and the timer starts; human opponents must agree, while bots accept automatically. See Game timers and time negotiation.
  • Added waiting-player alerts: when enabled, automatic alerts can appear on the home screen, during bot games, or while spectating, but are suppressed during human-versus-human games. For a manual check, press L with board focus or activate the bottom edge of the board, even when automatic alerts are disabled. See Checking for a waiting player and Available-player alerts for details and sound controls.
  • Added eight game-interface languages: Arabic, French, German, Italian, Persian, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish. English and Romanian were already available.
  • Added spectator chat: spectators can send messages and reactions to the players and other spectators in the same game. Players can view the spectator list and mute spectator chat on their own device. See Chat and spectators.
  • Added Page Up and Page Down navigation between quadrant corners while using Virtual Mode.
  • Added right-to-left layouts and mirrored navigation for Arabic and Persian.
  • Improved leaderboard navigation, position feedback, and accessible country names and flags.
  • Improved screen-reader labels for Premium subscription and game-package choices.
  • Made the manual waiting-player check fully keyboard operable.
  • Clarified that the Rating JG leaderboard includes players after at least one completed game against another person; bot-only games do not qualify a player for the leaderboard.
  • Added a way for signed-in players to find their own leaderboard position.
  • Kept the Chat and Leave controls visible on smaller landscape screens instead of shortening their labels.
  • Improved language loading and the English fallback when a translation is unavailable.

See How to Play, Game Modes, Settings, Keyboard Shortcuts, and Rating, Statistics & Leaderboard for details.

Changes in version 1.0

JustGammon’s initial release took place gradually across platforms. The Android app was accepted on Google Play on 19 September 2026, and the iOS app was accepted on the App Store on 9 October 2026. Web access was intermittent during the initial rollout while stability improvements were being made. We use 1 October 2026 as the reference date for the general version 1.0 release.
