Game History and Replay
JustGammon provides completed-game history in your profile and a detailed report for the current or most recently recorded match. A match can contain several individual games.
Open your game history
Section titled “Open your game history”- From the home screen, select your avatar or My Profile.
- Select History, the fifth tab, after Statistics.
- Select a game to expand or collapse its details.
The list loads your completed games from the server, newest first, with 20 games per page. Select Load more for older results. Each entry shows the outcome, opponent, date, duration, and bot difficulty when applicable. Expanded details include the points awarded, start time, hits, and dice totals. Dice figures in this list describe both players together.
Each row represents one game rather than an entire match. Historical rows do not include a move-by-move replay. If your current nickname cannot be matched to either player’s name, the entry identifies both sides and the winning colour instead of showing a personal win or loss.
Statistics at the end of a game
Section titled “Statistics at the end of a game”After a game ends, the results screen can show a short comparison of pips rolled, hits, doubles, and average turn time. Select More stats for the full comparison, grouped into dice, play, contact, race, and time. Select Fewer stats to return to the results.
Between games of a match, the Continue action remains available. Once the match ends, Game report opens a detailed report within the results screen. Returning from the report brings you back to the results.
Reopen the last match
Section titled “Reopen the last match”When you are no longer on the game screen, My Profile → History can show a Last match card. Select Open report to reopen its report. Closing it returns to the History tab.
This card uses the match recorded on the current browser or device. It is separate from the server’s completed-game list.
Summary and key moments
Section titled “Summary and key moments”The report has Summary and Replay tabs. If several games were recorded in the match, use the game selector to switch between them.
Summary compares the two players’ statistics and shows how their pip counts changed. Select Show as table for the chart’s numerical values.
Key moments can include hits, the first bear-off for each colour, the longest turn, the largest swing in the pip race, and the point from which the eventual winner kept the pip-count lead. Select a moment to open Replay at that position. These highlights describe the recorded play; they are not an analysis of the best legal move or a guarantee of who was most likely to win.
Replay controls
Section titled “Replay controls”Replay shows the saved board position after each checker move, with dice, move descriptions, pip counts, and hits. A turn with no recorded moves can also have its own step. Use the controls to go to the first or last position, move backward or forward by one checker move or turn, or start and pause automatic playback. The slider selects a position directly, and the move list lets you jump to a turn.
Automatic playback advances about every 1.2 seconds. Selecting another game, leaving Replay, or closing the report stops it.
With focus inside the Replay panel:
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Left / Right Arrow | Previous / next move; directions reverse in right-to-left languages |
| Shift + Left / Right Arrow | Previous / next turn; directions reverse in right-to-left languages |
| Home / End | First / last position |
The position slider keeps its normal keyboard behaviour. These controls are separate from the live board’s shortcuts. See Keyboard Shortcuts.
For screen-reader users, steps have spoken descriptions and Show position as text lists occupied points, checkers on the bar, and borne-off checkers. During automatic playback, announcements are limited to the start of each turn. Spoken point names follow your usual point-naming preference.
What is retained
Section titled “What is retained”The current or most recent recorded match is saved locally for your account and can survive a page reload or app restart. Starting a new match replaces it. Another browser or device does not receive this recording, and clearing local site or app data removes it. If local storage is unavailable or full, only the recording held in the current app session remains available.
Joining late can produce a partial recording. Reloads or connection interruptions can leave gaps, which the report identifies. Figures describe the events your device recorded and may be incomplete. Moves missed during an interruption cannot be reconstructed from the server’s history.
The server’s completed-game history remains separate from this local recording. Older server entries can still show results and totals even when their moves are unavailable for replay.
In-game message history
Section titled “In-game message history”More → History is the temporary log of game announcements and chat, with All, Game, and Chat channels. It is cleared when you leave the game screen. Its shortcuts, including Shift+H, open or read that message log, rather than the profile’s completed-game list or a replay.
